Today there are several different hair loss reasons for why one person may suffer from this particular medical condition and another will not. You will find that this is not only a male problem but also one that women are just as likely to suffer from as well. Below are some of the more common reasons, which may result in a person losing their hair no matter what age they may be.
Hair loss
Heredity
It is the most common type of hair loss that people experience. Half of children whose parent suffers from hair loss, also suffer from the same problem as well.Though you may think this is something that only a man will suffer from; then you need to think again. Yes, Androgenetic Alopecia is very common in men (male pattern baldness), but it is also becoming very prevalent in women (female pattern baldness) as well. In most cases, not only can the father of the child be the carrier of the gene that can contribute to them having this condition but the mother can be as well.
Medical intervention
Because we rely heavily on various forms of drugs, medications, and other medical treatments to help get us well, these can contribute towards a person losing their hair. Certainly, people who undergo some form of chemotherapy or radiation therapy to treat cancer have a higher chance of suffering from some form of hair loss during their treatment. Normally once treatment has been completed, after a period, the person will often notice that they have some hair regrowth happening.
Hormone levels imbalanced
This is probably the second main cause for why women especially seem to start losing their hair. In many cases, a woman has far more testosterone hormone in her body than is normal which then increases the amount of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) to be found in her body. When DHT becomes excessive, it can bind itself to the hairs follicles and this, in turn, prevents further hair growth from occurring.
Fungal infections
Fungal infections of the scalp are a common cause in young children. Antifungal medications should help resolve this quickly. Certain hairstyles and treatments may also be to blame, and these include tight pigtails, cornrows, tight rollers, and hot oil treatments, chemicals from perms, color treatments, and inflammation .Above are the main causes why a person is likely to suffer from hair loss. However, there are plenty of other reasons for a person to begin to lose their hair. For some, it could be their age, and for others, it could be because they have a medical problem relating to their immune system. While other hair loss reasons for women may be that they are going through menopause or they may have recently given birth to a child
